Positive Youth Development (PYD)

This programme if about supporting boys and girls from communities where GF operates to transition safely from childhood to young adult and from young adulthood to addulthood.  This is important because inorder to make such a safe transition and become productive members of their communities, young people need to nurture positive beliefs, behaviours and attitudes, and gain skills and knowledge that make them connected to their communities, confident about themseves with strong characters, with competence to act effectvely to contribute and care for their communities.

Boys and girlks aged between 13 and 18 years;

Young men and women aged 19 to 35 years

We link the mentorshop program as the children grow and transition to young adulthood.

We support young men and women to organise themselves in groups, and support them to implement activities that enhance thier skills and knowledge.

We link young people with communities with the Community Conversations Program as knowledge generators and integrators.

We just started this program in January 2025 by consolidating projects that were implemented under education support and youth empowerment. We will see how well this works
